沙雕，堪稱最沒有地域、種族、語言藩籬的大地藝術，取之於自然，形塑於自然，最終
也還歸隱沒於自然。沙雕最迷人之處，就在於從無到有的蛻變過程，從一粒細沙到拔地
而起的巨大沙堡，人們無止境的創意與赤誠就是最佳催化劑，也因此，每年的福隆沙雕
藝術季總令人驚豔不已！

今年首度舉辦國際比賽，總計8個國家的沙雕師們嘔心瀝血完成了極高品質的作品，賽
後各沙雕師們對福隆沙雕季的評價更是極高，認為足以與其他國際大型比賽媲美。自從
2008年復辦沙雕季以來，無論是作品的細膩度、題材趣味度，抑或是藝術家陣容，都不
斷刷新自我紀錄，創造濱海遊憩新契機。近年來，更打開了跨界遊憩休閒的另一扇窗，
讓在地觀光產業也能自我提升，與國際級的文化藝術成功接軌，創造另一番觀光行銷的
完美範例。尤有甚者，隨著沙雕創作這門大地藝術漸成風潮，無形中也間接提醒國人愛
護自然、節能減碳、以及綠能環保觀念的重要，藉由一年一度的藝術季，讓前來參與的
大小朋友，都能在遊憩休閒的育樂中，體悟並珍惜人與自然和諧共生的關係。

這樣的沙雕季成功經驗，不但讓東北角暨宜蘭海岸國家風景區的能見度再次成為國際討
論的焦點，更提升了包含貢寮在地周邊之住宿、餐飲、自行車出租等產業效益，連帶也
提升東北角沿線觀光產業經濟效益，是相當難能可貴的多贏局面，也將是未來國內文化
觀光的新指標。期望藉由福隆沙雕的魅力，讓更多國內外的遊客都能前來體驗東北角之
精采，進而感受到更多臺灣在地的美麗與感動。

Sand Sculpture Makes Cultural Tourism Minister of Mao Chi Kuo

Sand Sculpture is a kind of earth art without boundaries of region, culture or language.
To create a huge sand castle from a single grain of sand to where it finally stands is a
truly fascinating art form. Since 2008, the Fulong Sand Sculpture Festival has been held
annually along Fulong Beach and has invited numerous creative sand artists from more
than ten countries. The scale of the sculptures increase annually and so too does their
complexity and depth of design. During the festival scores of tourists from around the
island and worldwide are attracted to Fulong, which in turn helps the local culture and
economics flourish. It is our hope that through the interflow of international sand carving
experts, local cultural tourism can continue to be prosperous and people can learn to
enjoy the beauty of the land as well.
