龜山島地處黑潮暖流終年北流之通

道，海域內的海洋生物非常豐富。本海
域為臺灣三大漁場之一，是近海漁撈的
主要作業區域，盛產蝦、蟹、花枝、小

卷、赤鱆、馬頭魚等高經濟性魚類。由
於許多洄游性魚類往來洄游經過，主要

漁獲有旗魚、鯊、鯖、鰹、飛魚等，使
得本海域亦為鏢、釣漁業的良好漁場。
龜山島是個活火山島，海藻種類組

成與臺灣東部、南部的海藻較相似，但
與臺灣北部海藻相比較，則差異較大，

其中有十種海藻是臺灣北部所未發現
的。如此可佐證黑潮暖流行經路線是經
過龜山島，從而轉向東北，偏離臺灣北

部。
