Once winning the third place of World Sand Sculpture Award, the
thirty-seven year-old Japanese sand sculptor Toshihiko Hosaka, first showed his interest
and affection towards sand sculpting when he studied in Tokyo University of the Arts
in Japan. Humble and modest, Hosaka always regards himself as an amateur sand
sculptor while his work is particularly true to life in shape and the overall lines of his
sculpture are nearly perfect.
