農曆五月五日端午節，當日在臺灣各地主要河川都會舉行盛大的龍舟競賽，選手們隨著隆隆的鼓
聲奮力划槳，力拚第一。划龍舟的由來有數種說法，其一為：驅邪避惡；二是為了拯救愛國詩人
屈原；三是為了紀念東漢孝女曹娥。

Dragon Boat

The Dragon Boat Festival is held on the fifth day of the fifth month on the Chinese Lunar Calendar.
On that day, dragon boat racing events will be held on all major rivers in Taiwan. Racers follow the
deafening drum beat wishing to finish first.

是一位臺灣女子職業高爾夫選手，出生臺灣桃園縣龜山鄉。曾雅妮於2011年2月贏得ANZ女子高
球名人賽冠軍後，在女性高爾夫選手排名登上世界第一（2011年2月13日至今），成為史上第六
位世界球后，也是第一位登上主流運動世界排名第一的台灣運動員。2012年與台裔美籍NBA籃球
員林書豪一同獲選為《時代》雜誌（Time）「第8屆年度全球百大最有影響力人物」。
Ya-Ni Tseng

Born in Tao Yuan County of Taiwan. Ya-Ni Tseng won the first prize in ANZ RACV Ladies Master
in Febuary 2011, currently ranked No.1 in the world among female golfers. She is also the first
Taiwanese athlete to achieve No.1 ranking in the world in mainstream sports. In 2012, Ya-Ni and
NBA star Jeremy Lin both are included in the Time magazine's 100 most influential people of the
world.
