03 模板成型

Mold the shape with forms

大型沙雕高大宏偉，必須打下穩固地基才能
負荷。先用堆土機將沙堆到作品旁，再以符合國
際標準的「模板」圍成適當方框。

The large-scale sand sculpture is taller and heavier
so its foundation needs to be very stable to have enough
bearing capacity. When it comes to piling the sand, wooden
walls, also known as 'forms', will be built in a square shape.

04 堆沙灌水

Pile the sand up and saturate
with water

用挖土機在模板內倒入約一半的沙量，再適
度剷平，灌入適量水分，使沙子充分濕潤，增加
沙的可塑性，以利沙雕師進行創作。

Sand is filled into the forms until they are about half-
filled before pounding down the sand as hard as possible by
whacking it. More water will be filled to make sure the sand
stick together so the sculptors are able to begin their work.

05 夯實細沙

Compact the sand

用「震動器」夯實模板內的細沙，再用挖土
機將另一半的沙子倒入，重複灌水、夯實的步驟，

以穩固沙雕基底。
Vibrators are used to compact the sand inside the
forms before repeating the previous step to build a strong
foundation base for the sand sculpture.
