            最早的沙雕雖可溯自14世紀,但直到當代才成為一項融合雕塑、文化、繪畫、建                                                                                         福隆古稱「挖子澳」,日據時期日人為打通基隆與宜蘭之間的交通而建造鐵

                                                                                                                                         路貫穿其間,但因鐵路無法通過澳底,遂取道福隆,故又名「澳底驛」以及
            塑、文化、繪畫、建築、體育、娛樂的當代國際藝術,具有獨特的震撼性、真實
                                                                                                                                         「新澳底」。一進入龍門地區,道路兩旁交錯著起伏有緻的梯田與河階,山
            性、參與性、環保性等特點,儼然成為一項極具吸引力的旅遊特色。
                                                                                                                                         谷間雙溪河潺潺的流著,河水與大海交互作用出獨特的沙嘴地形,區分了波
            臺灣沙雕活動大約興起於50年代,加上臺灣由北至南有許多著名的沙灘景點,如                                                                        濤不興的雙溪河內河和驚濤駭浪的福隆外海,也成就了福隆饒富趣味的多重景緻。
            福隆、翡翠灣、沙崙、墾丁、崎頂、杉原等海水浴場,尤其以東北角鹽寮至福隆
                                                                                                                        今日,踏出福隆火車站,越過濱海公路,經過福隆橋,沿著左邊的小道前行,即是福隆的舊街。
            一帶,綿延三公里長的黃金沙灘,砂質屬石英沙、柔軟白細、觸感甚佳,和水後
                                                                                                                        福隆站前便當店林立,成為當地最具代表性的名產。街上新舊式的建築並立,廣場旁頗具氣派的
            可塑性佳、易膠著,被世界沙雕協會鑑定為臺灣 最適合沙雕的場所。
                                                                                                                        東興宮,是居民的信仰中心,供奉三府王爺及天上聖母,每年農歷6月18的三府王爺生以及3月23
            天然資源及地形的得天獨厚,再加上主管機關東北角暨宜蘭風管處的大力行銷與                                                                         的媽祖生,皆為當地盛事。
            推動,果然成功帶動沙雕創作的休憩熱潮,並在短短不到10年間,讓福隆沙雕成

                                                                                                                        History of Fulong

                                                                                                                        Anciently called Wa-zi-ao, Fulong was first developed during the Japanese colonial period. A
                                                                                                                        railway was built through Fulong connecting Keelung and Yilan and since then Fulong got its name
                                                                                                                        and people got to notice its uniquely landforms and beautiful scenery.  These features include
                                                                                                                        arrangements of terraces, the unequalled Shuangxi inland river and the golden beach of Fulong.
                                                                                                                        Today Fulong has become prosperous, with tens of thousands tourists visiting every year.  Thanks
                                                                                                                        to well organized projects carried out by the Northeast and Yilan Coast Administration, people rush
                                                                                                                        into Fulong by car or train to enjoy biking and hiking in spring, sand sculptures and water activities
                                                                                                                        in summer, the beauty of Caoling Historic Trails in autumn, and most importantly, coming to eat
                                                                                                                        Fulong Railroad Bian Dang (lunch box) all year round.
