            2011年以「福隆國際沙雕藝術季─黃金沙城」之名,力邀十多
            位國際著名沙雕團隊來臺進行專業沙雕技術交流,創下當年運
            用最多細沙(4,500噸)、一次呈現最多作品(61座沙雕作品:
            含4座超級大沙雕、16座中型沙雕、21座小型沙雕、創作賽20
            座)、單日湧入最多人次(5萬人次)、最高總參觀人次(35
            萬人次)、以及提升在地產銷多達2-3成等「5大沙雕之最」的歷史紀錄。
            2011 Five Records to Build the Golden Sand Empire


            The theme of the 2011 event was The Golden Sand Empire.  A dozen internationally renowned sand
            sculptors were invited to Taiwan and the five biggest records for the festival were made this year.  These
            records were: the MOST sand used (4,500 tons), the MOST sculptures created (sixty-one works finished
            - four huge sized, sixteen medium sized and twenty competition works), the MOST admissions in one day
            (over fifty thousand visitors), the MOST total admissions (over three hundred and fifty thousand visitors
            in total during the festival), and finally MOST outstanding local marketing (enhancing 20-30% of local   2010
            businesses).

                                                                                                                     當年度首度廣邀來自美國及日本的沙雕團隊,創作臺灣史上最大的3D
                                                                                                                     沙雕作品,成功寫下展期間10萬人次的參觀人潮新紀錄。其中2座超過
                                                                                                                     350噸沙量的大型作品,分別是由美國沙雕公司(The Sand Sculpture
                                                                                                                     Company)所打造的「熱帶堤基(tiki)天堂」,將熱帶叢林的金剛、
                                                                                                                     猩猩、蟒蛇、老虎、熱帶鳥類、神秘土著與栩栩如生的沙雕火山納入
                                                                                                                     創作主題;以及日本藝術家保坂俊彥手下的希臘神話英雄赫拉克勒斯(Heracles)與雄獅涅墨
                                                                                                                     亞(Nemean)一決高下的峽谷場景。
                                                                                                                     2010 Taiwan's First Ever 3D Sand Sculpture Work


                                                                                                                     Sand experts from the USA and Japan were invited to Fulong for the first time in 2010.  They built Taiwan’s
                                                                                                                     first ever 3D sand sculpture work and at the time it was a groundbreaking record.  The event attracted one
                                                                                                                     hundred thousand visitors in one month.  Among the sand creations, two big artworks used over three thousand
                                                                                                                     and fifty tons of sand: One was Tropical Tiki Paradise, by the American Sand Sculpture Company, the other was
                                                                                                                     Heracles and Nemean, carved by Japanese artist Toshihiko Hosaka.
